The Way You Think About Yourself
Imagine if you gave the same amount of air time to things you love about yourself as you do …
what negative thing you think other people are thinking about you, what you don’t like about yourself, that thing you said that you wish you hadn’t, that decision you made that you think was terrible, and all the ways you think you should be showing up differently than you are.
Can you imagine what that would look like?
How you might show up differently?
How you would feel?
How it would it impact the people around you?
How you would impact the world?
Tell me: What DO you love about you?
That’s not a rhetorical question.
I know you spend a lot of time thinking about the things you don’t love about yourself.
Fixated on your perceived inadequacies.
Reminding yourself of why you aren’t good enough.
Ruminating about how you wished you were different.
So today, I want you to come up with just one thing you love about yourself.
Write down and put it everywhere.
Post-it notes around the house.
The background on your phone.
Set yourself alarm reminders throughout the day.
Write it on your mirror.
Read it.
Think it.
At least as many times as you think your favorite negative thought about yourself.
Obsess about it.
Until it becomes automatic.
What’s the one thing for you?
