Deciding Not To Decide
Reminder that you can take a decision off the table anytime you want. Even if it’s just temporarily.
In fact, sometimes the only decision you need to make is to not decide right now.
If you’re waiting on more information that hasn’t come yet.
If you don’t like the reasons you’re thinking about making a decision right now.
If you are constantly spinning about the options.
If it isn’t time sensitive.
If it isn’t actually your decision to make.
If it is distracting you from more important things.
Whatever the reason.
Because if you are spinning on a decision, you already aren’t deciding. Decisions are made in an instant.
Instead, you’re wasting time and mental energy that you’d probably rather be spending on something else.
And it’s okay that you aren’t choosing right now.
No judgment needed.
Adding judgment on top of the spinning doesn’t make you feel more decided or help you make better decisions.
Instead, just choose not to decide right now. Trust yourself to know when the time is right.
