Are you actually confused?
Is it that you don't know what to do…
Is it that you don’t know what you want…
Is it that you aren’t sure what choice to make…
Or is that you want it to be comfortable?
Sometimes our confusion is a red herring - meaning we do know what we want. We do know what to do. We do know what decision to make. But we also know it is going to be uncomfortable to go after what we want or to make the choice that will change our lives. And the human brain hates discomfort.
So if you’re feeling confused, question yourself to see if that confusion is just your brain’s attempt to get you to ignore what you want and to keep you safe and in the status quo.
Some good questions for this:
❔If you knew everything would work out perfectly, what would you want or choose?
❔If you knew you could feel amazing no matter what, what would you want or choose?
❔If you knew everything would be equally hard, what would you want or choose?
❔If you knew no one would judge you, what would you want or choose?
If you can answer these question, that’s great! You do know exactly what you want… You just wish it felt better to go after it. Which is great news. You can stop listening to your brain when it tells you that you don’t know what you want or that you are confused. Instead, you can start planning for dealing with that discomfort that comes with pursuing what you want.
If you can’t answer these questions, that’s okay too. Keep sitting with it and exploring it. The answers will come.
